The mother of Isla Caton says she feels like she’s “won the lottery” after finding out the four-year-old is responding well to cancer treatment.

Isla, who’s from Hornchurch, has spent the last two years battling with childhood cancer Neuroblastoma.

She is currently being treated in Barcelona and her mum Nicola says her bone marrow is clear of the disease.

Writing on Facebook, Nicola said: “We have just had the best news ever! Isla’s treatment is working. Her bone marrow is clear and out of the 12 spots she had of disease she only has two left! And her central nervous system is all clear!

“I feel like I have won the lottery, I’ve put faith in God all the way and he has looked after my baby, thank you all so much for praying and sending love we are 100 per cent convinced this makes all the difference.

“So now let’s get the fundraising going again strong and get the money for the vaccine and let’s beat this b*****d disease for good.”

More than £385,000 has been raised so far to help with Isla’s treatment. The target is £600,000, which will go towards further treatment in the USA.

She is due to be featured on Stand Up 2 Cancer on Channel 4 tonight.
