Police say a woman who was hit by a car in Havering-atte-Bower has suffered serious injuries.

The pedestrian, who’s in her late 60s, is in hospital after being struck by a white car in North Road at 5.11pm yesterday.

The vehicle, which witnesses say was a BMW, did not stop and police have launched an investigation to trace the driver.

It is understood that the car made off by turning left into Orange Tree Hill, then into Broxhill Road.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “At this stage, there has been no arrest.

“The Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU), part of the Roads and Transport Policing Command, is investigating. Enquiries continue.”

If you have any information about this incident, call police on 101 quoting 5316/9DEC or the SCIU witness line on 0208 597 4874.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you want to remain anonymous.
