The pair arrived on a moped and threw eggs at the establishment, in High Street, at around 11.50pm.
During the alleged burglary, a nearby man challenged them to stop.
One of the riders pulled out a hammer and demanded his possessions, however.
He immediately got into his vehicle and tried to escape but was chased by the two men.
During the pursuit, the moped collided with another car and the pair ran off.
Police have seized a potentially stolen Grey Yamaha that they believe was being ridden in the High Street before the incident.

No arrests have been made.
