The midfielder, who’s also played at right wing back this season, was on a deal that was due to run out this month.
But the 23-year-old has now put pen to paper on a deal until 2020.
McQueen’s played 26 games in all competitions so far this season.
Peter Taylor said: “I’m delighted to have secured Alex on an 18-month contract extension.
“He has shown that he can play well in both attacking and defensive positions, as he’s shown with the goals that he’s scored this season.
“It’s good for Alex and good for us that he’s tied himself down for 18 months, which means he can concentrate on his football.”
Meanwhile, Will Wright’s loan deal from Colchester has been extended until the end of the season.
Taylor said: “I feel Will has really improved with the matches that he has played for us, some of those in different positions.
“I have no doubt that we will need him for the second half of this season, and he will go back to Colchester a better player.”
The 21-year-old has made 20 appearances this season for the club since joining in July 2018.Tags: Football, Dagenham and Redbridge
