The work depicts a child playing in falling snow which turns out to be ash from a fire in a dumpster.
“It’s exactly what street art should be all about: a good, strong message on the street in a form that can’t be easily taken into a Westend gallery or a home and beautified,” said John Brandler, owner of Brandler Galleries in Brentwood.
“I like the strength and clarity of what he’s doing. I much prefer this to the girl with a balloon, which is a sweet picture whereas this is gritty and real.
“I’ve been dealing in Banksy’s since 2003 but this is the one I’m proud to own.”
John Brandler spent a six-figure sum acquiring the work which was originally created in Port Talbot, Wales.
It’s being moved from the outskirts of town into a venue in the centre for more people to see. John hopes to attract other major artists to the area to make it into a “go to” rather than a “go from” place.
