Police called to large fight involving schoolchildren in Dagenham Heathway

Police have been dealing with a large fight at Subway in Dagenham Heathway.

A large crowd was filmed causing widespread disorder in the area around the restaurant at around 5.45pm this evening.

One of the windows was smashed and a member of Subway staff received facial injuries as a result of the broken glass.

Several reports on social media claim the group congregated there because of a free sandwich deal, although Time 107.5 has not been able to verify this.

A Met Police spokesperson said they were called to reports of schoolchildren fighting near Dagenham Heathway underground station.

The group had dispersed upon arrival of police.

No arrests have been made but enquiries are ongoing.
