Joy Morgan, studies midwifery at the University of Hertfordshire and went missing after an event at a church in Ilford on Boxing Day.
The 21-year-old’s last known contact with anyone was a WhatsApp message she sent to coursemates the following day.
She was reported missing at the beginning of February.
Shohfah-El Israel, 40, of Fordwych Road, Cricklewood has been charged with Joy’s murder.
He appeared at Hatfield Remand Court this morning and was remanded for a hearing at St Albans Crown Court on Friday.
Hertfordshire Police had given his name as Ajibola Shogbamimu, but the BBC reports that he changed his name by deed poll.
