Police were pursing a driver on the M25 shortly before 10pm last night.
Several people were injured after it collided with two other vehicles just after the chase in Parklands, Waltham Abbey.
An Essex Police spokesperson has confirmed the woman died at the scene but it is unclear how many others were hurt during the crash.
We are at the scene of a road traffic collision in which a woman has died & a number of people were injured in Parklands #walthamabbey.
It involved three vehicles and happened shortly after 9.55pm on Thursday 28 March.

Officers of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire road policing unit were attempting to stop the car on the M25.
The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct as a result.
A crime scene is in place and Parklands will remain closed for some time.
