Thurrock council remains largely unchanged with Labour taking one seat from the Conservatives overall.
But the Conservatives still have the lead with 22 councillors, compared to Labour’s 17.
The Thurrock Independents held onto nine seats in total, the same amount as before the election.
Fraser Massey, who stood as an independent, took East Tilbury with 984 votes. He was followed by UKIP candidate, Michael Keal, who only received 196 votes.
The total turnout was 26.88%.

In Brentwood, the Conservatives maintained control of the council.
They now hold 20 seats and are followed by the Liberal Democrats with 13.
Since 2015, the Liberal Democrats have gained four councillors while the Conservatives have lost five.
