Traffic nightmare following incidents on the M25 and A13

There are severe delays to the rush hour traffic this afternoon following a number of incidents.

An accident at junction 29 of the M25 has closed the main carriageway on the clockwise side, with traffic at a standstill there. Congestion is stretching back to junction 27 for the M11.

Those queues are being exacerbated by the earlier closure of the QEII Bridge.

The A13 eastbound is closed at the Beckton Roundabout, the A406 junction, because a person is threatening to jump off a bridge there, according to police.

Officers are at the scene dealing with it.

Two lanes are also closed on the westbound carriageway because of the incident.

Drivers planning to use either the M25 or the A13 this afternoon are advised to find alternative routes.
