Teenager remanded in custody after facing charge of murdering Jodie Chesney in Harold Hill

A 17 year old boy has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with murdering teenager Jodie Chesney in Harold Hill.

The boy from Barking was charged on Sunday with murder and possession of a stun gun after being arrested on 10 March and initially released under investigation.

17-year-old Jodie died after being stabbed in Amy’s Park on 1 March.

Three other people have been charged with her murder.

Manuel Petrovic, 20, of Highfield Road, Collier Row, a 16-year-old boy from Romford, and Svenson Ong-a-kwie, 19, of Hillfoot Road, Collier Row are due to stand trial at the Old Bailey in September.

A 50-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, who were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, have been released under investigation.
