Emergency services were called to De Pass Gardens at around 3.31pm this afternoon.
The blaze engulfed seven floors, with footage from the scene earlier showing balconies burning.
London Fire Brigade (LFB) says 15 fire engines and approximately 100 firefighters battled the flames, finally managing to put it out just after 6pm.

Station Manager Andy Maloney said: “Crews worked really hard to put the fire out.
“Any residents who are affected by the fire are advised to go to the rest centre at Thames View Community Centre on Bastable Road. Transport is available from De Pass Gardens to take people there.”
We have ambulance crews on standby in Barking as @LondonFire deal with a fire at a block of flats. No reports of any injuries at the moment.

Investigators are working to find out the cause of the fire.
