The 26-year-old attended hospital in the early hours of Sunday morning reporting he had been stabbed outside The Merry Fiddlers pub in Fiddlers Hamlet.
He is currently stable in hospital but in a potentially life-threatening condition.
Detectives would like to speak to anyone who was at the pub and witnessed the incident.
