The fire started at around 3.30pm yesterday afternoon.
20 homes in De Pass Gardens were destroyed by the blaze but, miraculously, no one was seriously injured.
The crowdfunding page, which is endorsed by the local council, is aiming to raise £100,000 for those affected.
You can donate to it here.
Darren Rodwell, the leader of Barking and Dagenham Council, said: “This fire has obviously been devastating for all of the families involved so our immediate priority has been their safety and welfare.
“We have been working closely with the emergency services to make sure people are safe, fed and housed for the night. Staff have been at our rest centre throughout the night and we have arranged temporary accommodation for everyone who needed it last night.
“This work will continue today as we determine what people need and the local community have been fantastic with their offers of help.”
The council is also asking for donations of children’s clothing, nappies and new male and female underwear in all sizes.
Items can be dropped off at children’s centres across the borough or at Barking Town Hall.
