37 parks have been nominated for the East of England award, including Hainault Country Park, Belhus Woods in South Ockendon, and Weald Country Park in South Weald.
Bedfords Park, in Havering-atte-Bower, is loved for its deer, the visitor centre and its views of London.
Families regularly take part in activities at Hainault Country Park and funding has been secured to restore the forest to its natural state.
Valentines Park was originally the parkland to Valentines Mansion and Gardens. It is known for its multi-use games area and was voted 6th in the country out of 1582 green spaces in the People’s Choice Award 2015.
Weald Country Park, in Brentwood, attracts visitors with its wildlife, including fallow deer, cattle and herons.
In Thurrock, Belhus Park is known for its lake and ancient woodland.
