A man from Ilford has been jailed for a vicious attack, in which he stamped on a teenager’s head, in Richmond station.

Blaine Brown, 19, got into an argument with another 19-year-old and punched him in the face, causing him to fall. He then kicked the man while he lay on the ground.

Witnesses reported hearing Brown shout “are you looking at my girlfriend?” before launching the attack on Sunday, 24 March.

The victim was left unconscious and suffered serious injuries, including memory loss and life-changing injuries. He was treated in hospital for a long time.

“Thanks to the quick response of emergency services he survived and is now doing everything he can to recover,” said Detective Constable, Robert Wyllie.

“Brown is an expressively violent man; he didn’t want to just fight his victim, he wanted to hurt him significantly and had little thought for the long term consequences.”

Brown pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent and was jailed for five years at Blackfriars Crown Court on Thursday, 8 August. He will serve a further four years on license.

Police do not believe the two men were known to each other at the time of the attack.
