The power has now been restored, after the roughly 10-minute outage,
Romford, Collier Row, Rush Green, and Hornchurch are known to have been affected.
UK Power Networks, which is responsible for electricity in the area, said: “There’s a large fault on the network and we’re in the process of assigning engineers.”
In a separate Tweet, the company added: “We’ve been able to reroute some power around the fault.”
Shortly after the blackout occurred, TfL tweeted to say the traffic lights in Rom Valley way are out, causing traffic problems near Queen’s Hospital.
