Traffic is heavy approaching the QEII Bridge (credit: Highways England)
Police rushed to close the motorway, near junction 30, this morning after a number of the animals were seen in the road.
But before the officer’s could implement the closure, one of the horses had run in front of an HGV and sustained serious injuries.
Sadly, it passed away.
A lane of the M25 clockwise is closed while the creature is removed from the road.
Drivers heading towards the Dartford Crossing are warned to expect delays as a result.
