Men from Dagenham and Rainham arrested over targeted assault

The attack allegedly happened late last night

Four men, including two from Dagenham and Rainham, have been arrested after a man was assaulted in a targeted attack.

The victim was pinned against a vehicle and beaten up by a group of men in High Ongar, Essex, at around 10.45pm yesterday.

He had to be taken to hospital after suffering a suspected broken right hand, fractured pubic bone and a cut to his arm.

Officers from Essex Police arrested a 21-year-old man from Dagenham, a 30-year-old man from Rainham, a 23-year-old man from Ongar, and a 62-year-old man from Ongar on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

They all remain in custody.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: “We are treating this as a targeted attack with no wider risk to the community.

“Anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage is asked to call Loughton CID on 101 quoting crime reference 42/134630/19.
