No arrests have been made
He and another man were found near the Pownsett Terrace car park at around 11.25pm on Saturday.
They were taken to hospital by ambulances, while the third victim, a teenager, made his own way there and was discharged early the following morning.
The two men both remain in hospital, one in a critical condition.
Investigators say no arrests have been made and no weapons have been recovered.
A crime scene remains in place and officers are appealing for witnesses who may have been in the area to come forward with information, whether that is to the police directly on 101, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
