Boy, 14, arrested in Barking on suspicion of murdering teenager

Santino Dymiter was stabbed to death last week

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in Barking on suspicion of murdering a teenager in Plaistow.

18-year-old Santino Dymiter was stabbed to death in Chadd Green on Bank Holiday Monday, 26 August.

The youth was arrested this morning and is in custody.

Santino was fatally stabbed in Chad Green on Monday, 26 August.

It happened at around 3.30pm and an hour later Dymiter was pronounced dead at the scene.

“I am certain that this brutal attack, or the aftermath, will have been witnessed by a number of people, some of whom may not have come forward,” said Detective Chief Inspector, Laurence Smith.

“The suspects fled the scene into Pelly Road, in a black Ford S-Max motor vehicle, which was found abandoned soon after in Stansfield Road, E16 with extensive damage and two flat tyres.

“Did you see this vehicle prior or post attack? The scene is close to Plaistow Underground Station and the area would have been busy.”

A post-mortem examination confirmed the cause of death was a stab wound.
