Chafford Hundred, Ockendon, Shoeburyness and Limehouse will see some of the most significant changes, with Rainham closing 12 hours earlier between Monday and Friday.
Meanwhile, Grays, East Tilbury and Dagenham Dock will also shut more than three hours earlier than usual.
The changes are intended to reflect the introduction of smartphones, the Oyster card and contactless payment.
They are targeted at offices with low customer demand and periods when around 12 tickets or fewer are sold each hour.
New ticket machines and online systems are reportedly being invested in to compensate for the potential changes.
“c2c has also improved CCTV at stations and introduced more mobile security patrols onboard trains and at stations,” a c2c spokesperson said.
It claims the current opening hours are not sustainable due to current customer demand.
