Two teens charged after Loughton police chase

They were arrested on Saturday morning

Two 15-year-old boys have been charged after a 10-mile police chase ended with a collision in Loughton.

The car came to a halt in Langstons Road after failing to stop for the police and colliding with several other vehicles on Saturday morning.

Armed police surrounded the dark Audi and arrested those inside.

One of the teenagers, from Wood Green, was charged with possession of a Class B drugs (cannabis); failing to stop a mechanically propelled vehicle when required by a constable; aggravated vehicle taking and dangerous driving; driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence; using a motor vehicle on a road without third party insurance; and, driving a mechanically propelled vehicle on a road without due care and attention. 

The second juvenile, also from Wood Green, was charged with aggravated vehicle taking and dangerous driving; and, allowing to be carried in/on a motor vehicle taken without the owner’s consent.

They have been bailed to appear at Highbury Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 31 October. 

Two 14-year-old girls, who were also in the car, were arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article and allowing themselves to be carried in a stolen car but have been released under investigation.
