Man suffers life-changing injuries during attack at football match in Dagenham

A 25-year-old man is in hospital after being assaulted following an amateur  football match in Dagenham.

Police were called to Sydney Russell School, in Parsloes Avenue, earlier just after midday today.

The victim has suffered life-changing injuries to his head and face, according to police.

He is in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

A crime scene is in place.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “The suspect left prior to police arrival.

“There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.”

The assault is understood to have happened after the football match finished.

The game was not directly affiliated with the school.
