The local book shop, in Corbets Tey Road, will cease trading on Saturday, 18 January.
A sign posted in the shop window claims online competition and changing consumer habits has made it difficult for them to remain open.
It also says: “the reckless changes to the parking charges imposed last year produced the final straw.”
Havering Council replaced free 30 minute parking with a flat £1.50 charge in the town centre in June last year.
The move sparked a series of petitions and protests in the area as business leaders argued it would hurt local traders.
Swan Books apologised to its customers for the inconvenience.
People will still be able to purchase books about the local area from its website https://www.swanbooks.co.uk/Tags: Havering, Upminster
