The team of five officers started working in January after Havering Council invested around £300,000 of taxpayers’ money into the scheme for each of the next three years.
It is being done as part of a Metropolitan Police project called Partnership Plus, which allows local authorities to pay for extra officers.
The task force is ring-fenced to only operate in Havering.
