Seven other people have been taken to hospital after the accident, which occurred at around 1.15pm today.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed they were called to the collision in Squirrel’s Heath Road, along paramedics and firefighters, who worked to release three people who were trapped in their vehicles.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We dispatched five ambulance crews, an incident response officer, an advanced paramedic, three medics in cars to the scene. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance trauma team.
“Sadly, despite efforts of medics, two people died at the scene.
“We treated a further seven people at the scene and took them all to hospital.”
It has since been confirmed that none of those who were hospitalised are in a life threatening condition.

Police have confirmed that the two people who passed away are a man in his 40s and a woman in her 50s.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Emergency services remain on scene and road closures are in place. Road users are advised to find alternative routes.
“Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage is asked to contact police on 101 quoting 3570/20FEB.”
Investigators are working to piece together what has happened and, at this very early stage, no arrests have been made.
