David Gomoh was attacked shortly after leaving his house.
Muhammad Jalloh, 18, of Stratford, Newham, and a 16-year-old boy from Telford were both charged yesterday (Sunday, 3 May) with the murder of David Gomoh.
They were also charged with conspiracy to cause GBH in connection with an alleged incident against a different person.
David, 24, was attacked by a group of masked men moments after leaving his home in Freemasons Road, Custom House, at around 10.25pm on Sunday, 26 April.
He was talking to a female friend on the phone when he was ambushed near the junction with Kerry Close.
The victim’s family were already mourning the loss of his father, who died unexpectedly from a Covid-19 related illness.
Mr Gomoh had been due to go to his dad’s funeral on Wednesday, 29 April, just days later.
David worked to keep NHS staff, like his mother who is a nurse, supplied with essential equipment. He had recently graduated with a marketing degree from Southbank University.
The teenagers are due to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court today (Monday, 4 May).
