Havering residents encouraged to cheer on doorsteps for volunteers

Havering Volunteer Centre are encouraging residents to take part.

Havering residents are being encouraged to stand on doorsteps tonight and ‘raise a cuppa’ to show their appreciation for volunteers.

The doorstep clap is taking place at 8pm this evening and will mark the first day of Volunteers Week, aimed at saying thank you and ‘Cheers to Volunteers.’

Vital volunteering has ensured many organisations, groups, community and residents in the borough have kept going during the coronavirus pandemic.

Templates of bunting are available on the Havering Volunteer Centre website so locals can also decorate their windows beforehand.

The Centre are also asking for nominations of volunteer heroes by 2pm today via sending in video clips, photos or thank you statements.
