Pedestrian, 71, dies in Walthamstow van collision

A 71-year-old man has died after a collision in Walthamstow.

The man was walking in Markhouse Road, near the junction with Queen’s Road, at around 5pm yesterday, when he was involved in a collision with a white Volkswagen van.

The pedestrian was rushed to hospital in a critical condition and passed away a short while later.

Investigators are now appealing for witnesses to the collision to come forward.

Police say the driver of the van stopped at the scene and no arrests have been made.
