Residents in St Ann’s have reported young people having all night parties (credit: Google Maps)
People living in and around St Ann’s were regularly disturbed by young people visiting the address and holding parties all night long.
Council officers worked with police to gather evidence which was later presented in court. A closing order was eventually granted on the property.
Barking and Dagenham Council has seized the property which will go to a local resident on the housing waiting list.
“A council tenancy comes with responsibilities; we expect people who are given these properties to not only look after them, but importantly not breach the terms of their tenancy through anti-social behaviour,” said Councillor Margaret Mullane, Cabinet Member for Enforcement and Community Safety.
“I would like to commend the officers for their hard work and glad to know that this property will now become a home for a deserving resident on the housing waiting list.”
