Met Police takes over investigation into fatal stabbing in Epping

The investigation into the death of a man who was found in Epping is continuing and has been taken over by the Metropolitan Police.

A man, aged in his 30s was found with stab wounds in Epping Road, near the Wake Arms roundabout, at around 8pm last night.

He later passed away in hospital.

Time 107.5 understands the victim to be Stephen Morrisson, the brother of rapper Jon Morrisson.

His identity is yet to be confirmed by police but Jon has posted a tribute on social media.

Essex Police was initially investigating the incident.

But tonight, in a statement, the Metropolitan Police said: “It is suggested the victim was attacked in an area within the Met’s jurisdiction.”

The location where Mr Morrisson was found is around four miles from the Greater London border, but it has not been revealed where they believe the attack took place.

“Enquiries continue into the circumstances and detectives are keeping an open mind as to any motive.

“A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.”
