Man dies after collision on A12 near Margaretting

The incident happened between junctions 15 and 16

A man has died following a collision with a lorry and car on the A12 near Margaretting.

The incident happened between Three Mile Hill and Galleywood around 9.20pm last night.

A Renault Megane collided with a stationary lorry in a layby.

The Renault driver, a man aged in his 40s, sadly died at the scene.

The northbound section between junctions 15 and 16 was closed throughout the morning.

Forensic examination work is currently underway to establish the circumstances.

Witnesses are asked to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101 quoting incident 1316 of July 6 or email CollisionAppeal@essex.pnn.police.uk
