Police appeal for help bringing Stephen Morrisson’s killers to justice

Police investigating the murder of Stephen Morrisson in Epping are asking for the public’s help in “bringing those responsible for Stephen’s death to justice.”

The 30-year-old from Plaistow, known as Stevo to family and friends, died after he was stabbed in a car park in Epping New Road on Tuesday, 23 June.

So far, nine people have been arrested in connection with Stephen’s death but no one has been charged yet.

Detective Chief Inspector Julie Gowen who is leading the investigation said: “I would like to thank everyone who has got in contact with us so far. Your help has been invaluable.

“Nine people have now been arrested in connection with Stephen’s death, but we are still asking anyone who has information to come forward and speak to us.

“No matter how small or insignificant you think your information is, please get in contact with us.

“It could be the key to bringing those responsible for Stephen’s death to justice.”

Those arrested so far include:

•  A 31-year-old man from London was arrested on 30 June on suspicion of murder, possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession with intent to supply Class B drugs. He has been released on bail until 25 September.
• A 23-year-old woman from London arrested on 3 July on suspicion of murder, has been re-bailed until 30 September.
• A man from London, who is now aged 24, arrested on 3 July on suspicion of murder, has been re-bailed until 30 September.
• A man, who is now aged 35, arrested on 3 July on suspicion of murder has been re-bailed until 30 September.
• A 26-year-old man from London arrested on 7 July on suspicion of murder has been released under investigation.
• A 23-year-old woman from London arrested on 9 July on suspicion of murder has been released on bail until 3 August.
• A 24-year-old man from London arrested on 13 July on suspicion of murder has been released on bail until 7 August.
• A 20-year-old man from Berkshire arrested on 23 July on suspicion of murder has been released on bail until 14 August.
• And a 17-year-old boy from London arrested on 26 July, has been released on bail until 19 August.
