The fight broke out at The Sutton Arms, in Station Lane, at around 11pm on Friday, 24 July.
A video of the altercation shows one man throwing chairs at security staff and a second man appearing to strike out with a weapon.
One man sustained a minor head injury and was treated at the scene.
Those involved in the fight had left by the time police arrived and no arrests have been made so far.
Footage of the incident, believed to have been filmed by Sean Banks and first shared on Instagram, has been widely circulated on other social media sites including Facebook and Twitter.
Detective Constable Daniel Smith said: “If you were in the Sutton Arms on Friday, 24 July around 11pm we really need to hear from you.
“Mobile phone footage of this incident has been widely shared online and in the press. What this footage shows is a significant number of people witnessed this altercation and we really need to speak to them to find out exactly what they saw.
“It is really important that we find out what you know as it could be significant to our investigation. If you have not already spoken to us please get in touch with us or to stay anonymous by calling Crimestoppers.”
