Officers were initially called to Broadway at 8.20pm yesterday evening, to reports that an armed duo were attacking members of the public in the street.
One person was found suffering minor injuries to their head and leg, but the assailants had fled before police arrived.
A short while later, at 8.47pm, a person was robbed by the two moped riders in Upminster Road South.
In this second incident, the victim suffered injuries to their hands.
Both victims were taken to hospital and have since been discharged.
The suspects were reportedly sighted in and around the Rainham area, at the time, and police have told Time 107.5FM they believe the suspects were involved in further incidents, with additional members of the public.
Detective Sergeant Nathan Lee said: “I am asking for anyone who witnessed any of these incidents, who may have any information or footage to please come forward.
“Witnesses also reported seeing the males riding a silver coloured moped, so would ask the local community or anyone with any further information to please contact police.”
Police patrols have been stepped up in the area as a results of last night’s crimes.
