Two charged following stabbing in Becontree

Two men have been charged in connection with a stabbing in Becontree.

Two cars collided in Gale Street on Monday (17 August) evening and a man was taken to hospital with knife wounds that were not life-threatening.

Police investigating the incident have since arrested three males.

A 22-year-old man has been charged with violent disorder and dangerous driving and he is due to appear at Barkingside Magistrates Court today.

A second man, aged 29, was charged with the same offences and appeared in court yesterday.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Monday, 24 August.

A third person is also understood to have been arrested.

Investigators are still seeking a fourth person in connection with the incident.

Detective Sergeant Mark Paterson said: “I am also seeking any further or additional information, footage or witnesses to this incident to come forward.

“In particular, I am also actively looking for one other individual reportedly involved in this incident and would urge them to come forward.”
