Pedestrians seriously injured in collision in Gants Hill – man arrested

Armed police have arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder after two pedestrians were reportedly hit by a car in Gants Hill.

The collision happened in Otley Drive at around 1.40am this morning.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and two men were taken to hospital, where they are being treated for life-changing injuries.

A spokesperson for the Met Police said: “The suspects reportedly fled the scene in a car which was later stopped nearby by armed officers.

“A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.”
