Police found a man with head injuries in Cranbrook Road on Monday (credit: Google Maps)
The officer was responding to reports of a fight in Cranbrook Road at around 12.25am on Monday, 31 August.
They found a man, aged in his 30s, suffering from head injuries. He was taken to hospital where his injuries were assessed as not life-threatening.
While at the scene, the officer was assaulted by a man and sustained minor injuries.
A 39-year-old man was arrested and remains in custody.
No arrests have been made in connection with the injured civilian.
