Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters were called to the two-storey mid terraced house in Windsor Road at around 1am today.
A family of four was awoken by smoke alarms and managed to leave the property before the brigade arrived.
The two adults and two children were all treated for smoke inhalation at the scene by the London Ambulance Service.
Crews managed to bring the fire under control by around 2.40am.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Firefighters from Stratford, Leytonstone, Plaistow, East Ham, Ilford, Leyton and Poplar fire stations attended the scene.
