Boy from Barking due in court after police officer stabbed

He and another teen have been charged today

A 15-year-old boy from Barking is due in court after he and another teen were charged in connection with an incident in which a police officer was stabbed.

The female officer was taken to hospital after the incident in Westminster yesterday afternoon. She was later discharged from hospital.

The boy from Barking is charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm against a police officer, assault by beating of an emergency worker, attempted robbery, threatening a person with a blade or sharply pointed article in a public place, assault by beating, and criminal damage

A second boy, also aged 15, from Hampshire, is charged with assault by beating of an emergency worker, attempted robbery, threatening a person with a blade or sharply pointed article in a public place, assault by beating, and criminal damage.

They are both due to appear at Highbury Corner Youth Court today.
