Tributes to taxi driver, 65, killed in Orsett collision

Tributes have been paid to a 65-year-old taxi driver from Grays, who died in a crash in Orsett.

Norman Bullock passed away after the crash involving his red Peugeot 308 and a black BMW X5 on the A128 Brentwood Road early on Monday morning.

The company he worked for, Thameside Taxis, has posted on Facebook and says he will be greatly missed.

It said: “Norman was well known in Thurrock, he had served the local community as a taxi driver for over 30 years.

“He will be greatly missed by us all and our thoughts and prayers are with Norman’s wife and family at this devastating time.

“Norman’s wife, Moira expresses her devastation at the loss of her soul mate and thanks everybody for their condolences.”

The collision happened at around 4am on Monday morning, near the junction with Conway’s Road.

The occupants of the BMW left the scene before emergency services arrived.

No arrests have been made so far and Essex Police is appealing for witnesses to come forward.
