There’s still plenty of time to get your donations in
Our annual campaign was launched 10 days ago, in partnership with Romford BID and GBP Estates, with a target of £15,000 so we can provide gifts for children who wouldn’t get any presents without our support.
Usually, we ask people to donate gifts to us but, because of the coronavirus pandemic, we decided to set up an online donation page so that we can buy the gifts and help keep people safe.
The figure has been steadily rising each day and passed the milestone thanks to a donation of £1,000 from singer-songwriter Eliot Kennedy, who was interviewed on-air by Mark Dover earlier today.
The generosity of Eliot, who was on to talk about his wonderful career and current single ‘My Destiny’, and many of our fantastic listeners means we’re now more than a third of the way to reaching our target, with the fundraising set to end on Monday, 14 December.
You can donate to our GoFundMe page here.
Lorna Waters, Station Manager at Time 107.5FM, said: “We are so grateful for the support we have received so far for Give a Child a Christmas. Once again, the kindness of the local community is shining through.
“We still have a long way to go and any amount that you can donate will go a long way to helping us achieve our goal of putting smiles on the faces of local children.
“The money raised from our fundraising page will be used to buy gifts from local stores in Romford. Our partner, Romford BID, has negotiated discounts with many retailers, meaning we can help support as many children and their families as possible this Christmas.”
If you are unable to donate to our fundraising page and would like to donate presents instead, you can bring them into the Time 107.5FM studio in The Liberty Shopping Centre or take them to GBP Estates in Victoria Road, Romford.
