Dagenham man arrested for fraud and distraction theft offences in Redbridge

The suspect was arrested in connection with 12 offences 

A man from Dagenham has been arrested in connection with 12 fraud and distraction theft offences carried out in Woodford and Wanstead.  

Officers detained the 34-year-old in Ilford yesterday and found he was in possession of equipment which is used to trap cash and bank cards inside ATMs. 

He was also carrying cash and several bank cards. 

Detectives managed to identify the suspect by using police intelligence, witness information and CCTV enquiries. 

He was taken to an east London police station and has since been released on bail to a date in late December pending further police enquiries.
