A gospel choir will perform Christmas carols later in the evening
The Mercury Mall and The Liberty Shopping Centre will be hosting a live online auction at 7pm on Friday, 11 December.
Presenters will guide viewers through a series of auctions where they can bid on a variety of items and prizes.
“This is such a different way to how we would normally raise funds for our hospitals,” said Lynda Head, King George and Queen’s Hospitals Charity Head of Fundraising.
“Local businesses have been so generous in donating some fantastic auction lots including a private screening at the Premiere Cinema with popcorn and bottomless drinks, a beautifully framed West Ham United shirt signed by last season’s players and so much more – you’ll have to log in to find out!”
Those watching will also be able to pledge donations for on screen individuals to carry out tasks, such as Santa Claus giving special shout outs from his grotto in the Mercury.
Later in the evening, staff from both hospitals will discuss what the charity means to them as will Havering’s deputy mayor, Christine Vickery.
A gospel choir will also perform Christmas carols and viewers will be able to enter a prize draw to win a tattoo worth up to £500.
The Mercury Mall’s manager, Spencer Hawken, said: “We really wanted to raise money for our NHS charity and teaming up with The Liberty Shopping Centre for a night of fun and fundraising is perfect.
“Using the power of social media, in this case Facebook, a massive three hour event will take place featuring dozens of faces from the local community.”
