Two further arrests have been made after a teenager was fatally stabbed in North Woolwich.

A 15-year-old boy was found after being knifed in Woodman Street, on Friday evening.

Emergency services rushed there just before 7pm after the attack, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim’s next of kin has been informed.

Yesterday morning, a 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder and a 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

A third man was arrested on Saturday but has been released with no further action being taken against him.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Wrigley said: “These arrests are a positive step in our investigation but we are still working to establish exactly what took place on Friday night.

“There were lots of people in the area at the time and I would appeal for anyone who hasn’t yet come forward, to do so.

“The senseless killing of a 15-year-old has understandably shocked the community and I would urge them to help us bring those responsible to justice.”

The investigation is being led by the Met’s Specialist Crime Command (Homicide). Anyone with information is urged to call the incident room on 0208 345 3715.

Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
