People will have the chance to try the new facilities and a variety of activities for free from Sunday, 3 January 2021.
They include a 25m eight-lane swimming pool and a 20m wide learning and diving pool with a movable floor to change the depth.
The new site will also feature a 100-station health and fitness suite, sports hall and three exercise studios.
It is replacing the current Hornchurch Sports Centre, where the current swimming pool will close for the final time on Christmas Eve.
“After what has been a terrible year for our leisure centres, it is wonderful news that the long-awaited Harrow Lodge Leisure Centre will soon be opening its doors,” said the leader of Havering Council, Damian White.
“This new addition really demonstrates our commitment to providing everything residents need to live happy, healthy lives.”
Tom Fletcher, contract manager at Everyone Active, said: “The brand new Harrow Lodge Leisure Centre will be a welcome addition to the town.
“Leisure centres in Havering are pivotal in providing a wide range of facilities to the community.
“We’re passionate about helping more people to improve their health and wellbeing by getting active.
“We hope to see many new and returning members visit us on our official open week.”
All of the activities taking place during the opening week will be socially distanced and in line with Covid-19 restrictions at the time.
People who wish to attend will need to book in advance by calling Everyone Active on 01708 454135.
