Two men charged following abduction and police chase in Forest Gate

They are due in court today

Two men have been charged in connection with a kidnapping in Forest Gate, which led to a police pursuit the wrong way down the A12.

A 24-year-old was “bundled into a van” in Barwick Road yesterday morning, police say.

He was later rescued by officers after they pursued the van, which travelled south along the northbound carriageway.

The vehicle came to a stop in Poplar, near the St Leonard’s Road junction.

Edgar Cice, 22, of Central Avenue, Welling, and Frankie Jackson, 22, of no fixed address, were both charged on Thursday, 17 December with kidnap.

Both were remanded in custody to appear at Thames Magistrates Court today.

Investigators believe there are at least two other suspects who have not yet been identified or located.
