Raiders will still need to follow government guidelines (credit: Raiders Ice Hockey Club)
The squad will be allowed to continue training behind closed doors at the Sapphire Ice and Leisure Centre, in Romford, despite Tier 4 restrictions being in place.
However, the Raiders will still have to follow special government guidance set out by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport.
Under the rules, a team bubble must not consist of more than 30 members.
The club released a statement in response to the news which said: “The Raiders Ice Hockey Club have now achieved “return to train” status under the Elite DCMS guidance”.
“Our thanks to the EIHA and those involved in the processing of this application and the players and coaching staff that have patiently awaited their opportunity to return safely to the ice.”
The Raiders’ management team also wished everyone a “wonderful Christmas and a better New Year.”
