Sunny Choudhary feels safer after getting the vaccine (credit: BHRUT)
Sunny Choudhary, a radiology support worker, became the 5,000th person to receive the jab at the hospital’s vaccination centre earlier this morning.
He has worked at the hospital for more than four years and was also given a box of Cadbury’s Heroes.
“I feel very happy and excited to receive my first jab,” said Sunny Choudhary.
“I want to keep people around me safe and I also want to get back on a plane ASAP, so it was great to receive the vaccine.
“I would encourage others to book their slot if possible as it has made me feel a lot safer, however it is important to respect personal choice.”
Hospital staff as well as people working in care homes have been receiving the vaccine over the last few weeks.
Across the country, it is estimated 40 per cent of 80-year-olds have received the jab and more than 2.4 million doses have been given out.
